GenMB vs Base44: Two Full-Stack AI App Builders
GenMB and Base44 both turn a plain-English prompt into a working app. Both give you a backend, a database, user sign-in, and hosting. Both let you click elements to edit them. So the choice is not about whether they can build your app. It is about price, credits, free-plan limits, and what you get after the app ships.
Base44 is owned by Wix. Wix announced the acquisition in June 2025, and Base44 runs as its own product.
Quick Verdict
Choose GenMB if: You want unlimited apps on the free plan, credits that roll over, free fixes for breakage GenMB finds on every plan, and a lower price for Pro and team plans.
Choose Base44 if: You want code editing on its lowest paid plan, built-in payments and domain buying through Wix, or enterprise controls like data residency.
Pricing Side by Side
Prices as of October 2026, in USD per month. Base44 shows its prices billed annually on its pricing page, and says yearly billing saves 20%, so its monthly billing costs more. GenMB prices below are monthly, with the yearly per-month price in brackets.
| Plan | GenMB | Base44 (billed annually) |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0: 8 credits a day, up to 40 a month, unlimited apps | $0: 25 message credits a month (up to 5 a day), 100 integration credits, up to 5 apps |
| Entry | Starter $9: 100 credits | Starter $16: 100 message credits, 2,000 integration credits |
| Mid | Pro $25 ($20 yearly): 300 credits | Builder $40: 250 message credits, 10,000 integration credits |
| Higher | Team $59 ($49 yearly): 500 shared credits | Pro $80: 500 message credits, 20,000 integration credits |
| Top self-serve | Business $129 ($109 yearly), Scale $399 ($329 yearly) | Elite $160: 1,200 message credits, 50,000 integration credits |
A credit on GenMB and a credit on Base44 are not the same unit, so do not compare the credit counts one to one. Compare what you build in a month instead.
How the credits work
GenMB has one credit balance. A simple app is 2 credits, a full-stack app with a backend is 6, and each chat edit is 1 to 40 based on size. Paid credits roll over: Pro keeps up to 600, Team up to 1,000.
Base44 has two balances. Message credits pay for building with the AI chat. Integration credits pay for what your live app does, like sending an email, generating an image, or running an LLM call. Base44 lists a small change at about 0.5 credits and an app-wide change at about 3 to 4. Unused credits expire when they reset each month.
Where GenMB Is Stronger
1. Unlimited apps on the free plan
GenMB Free has no app limit. Base44 Free allows up to 5 apps. If you like to try many ideas, GenMB gives you more room before you pay.
2. Credits that roll over
On GenMB Pro, the 300 monthly credits you do not use carry over, up to 600. A slow month is not wasted. On Base44, unused credits expire at the reset.
3. Free fixes on every plan
After every change, GenMB tests your app in a real browser. When a second check confirms real breakage, Fix now is free, up to 2 tries per error, on every plan, including Free. GenMB never changes your app without asking.
Base44 also fixes errors on its own, and on its paid plans those automatic fixes are free. On Base44 Free, automatic fixes use message credits.
4. Lower price for Pro and teams
GenMB Pro is $25 a month, or $20 a month billed yearly, with a full database, custom domain, code export, and GitHub push. Team is $59 a month with unlimited team members and no per-seat fees, sharing one credit pool.
5. A deeper layer after the app ships
GenMB adds 80 plugins, a visual workflow builder with 19 node types, scheduled agents, chat agents that answer on Telegram, Slack and Email, and agent teams. Base44 has workflows and agents too, so this is a difference in depth, not a missing feature.
6. A refund if you change your mind
Every GenMB paid plan has a 30-day money-back guarantee if you have not used any credits.
Where Base44 Is Stronger
Base44 is a strong product, and some people will be happier on it.
- Code editing starts lower. Base44 Starter includes in-app code edits. On GenMB, the code view and editor start at Pro.
- Badge removal on its entry plan. Base44 Starter removes the Base44 badge. GenMB removes its badge from Pro.
- Payments and domains through Wix. Base44 offers payments powered by Wix and lets you buy a domain through Wix, with a free domain for 1 year on yearly paid plans.
- Built-in database on Free. Base44 Free includes authentication and database functionality. GenMB Free stores simple saved data, and a full database needs a paid plan.
- Free manual visual edits. In Base44 Edit mode, changing colors, text, or spacing by hand uses no credits. A Discuss mode lets you plan changes for about 0.3 credits a message.
- Enterprise controls. Base44 Business adds SSO, data residency, IP allowlisting, and 30-day backup and restore. GenMB Business has SSO and a team activity log, but not the rest of that list.
Code Ownership and Export
Both let you keep your code.
GenMB: Pro and above can export the app as a ZIP and sync it with GitHub in both directions: push to a repo, pull changes back, or turn on auto-sync. Every app is React and TypeScript, built with Vite and Tailwind CSS.
Base44: Its pricing FAQ says you own your code, data, and users, and that two-way GitHub sync exports the full source code to your own repo. GitHub sync needs the Builder plan or higher.

Who Should Choose Base44
- Wix users who want payments and domains from the same company
- Developers who want code editing on a low plan
- Larger organizations that need data residency and IP allowlisting
Our Recommendation
For most people starting out, GenMB gives more for less. Free has unlimited apps. Pro costs less than Base44 Builder, keeps unused credits, and includes a full database, a custom domain, and code export.
If you already run on Wix, or you need enterprise controls, Base44 is a good choice.
The best test is your own idea. Build it free on GenMB and see what you get in one session.
Build your app with GenMB free. No credit card needed.
