The core gameplay loop is:

Instead, progression is mainly determined by:

* Access to new areas and quests

The game should feel simple to understand but satisfying to progress through.

Make the game:

* 2D
* Top-down
* Similar visually to Zombs.io
* Browser-friendly
* Responsive
* Easy to control with keyboard and mouse

The player should move around freely using **WASD**.

Use a simple attack system:

* Left click to attack
* The player attacks in the direction of the mouse cursor
* Fists are the starting weapon
* Weapons change the player's attack appearance and damage

The map should be larger than the initial village so the player can explore.

The player starts at:

The player should have:

# LEVEL SYSTEM

The player starts at Level 1.

For V1:

**MAX LEVEL = 15**

XP should be required to level up.

Make XP requirements scale upward as the player levels.

For example:

Level 1 → 2: 100 XP
Level 2 → 3: 150 XP
Level 3 → 4: 200 XP
Level 4 → 5: 275 XP
Level 5 → 6: 350 XP

Continue increasing the requirements gradually until Level 15.

When the player levels up:

* Increase maximum health slightly
* Fully restore health
* Show a level-up notification
* Play a small level-up effect

Do NOT allow the player to exceed Level 15 in V1.

If the player reaches Level 15, display:

Enemies drop money when defeated.

Money can be used to:

* Purchase weapons
* Potentially purchase basic items later

For V1, keep the economy simple.

The player's money should be displayed clearly in the HUD.

# QUEST SYSTEM

Create a proper quest system.

Quest givers should have a visible indicator above their head when they have a quest available.

When interacting with a quest giver:

* Open a dialogue box
* Show the quest name
* Show the objective
* Show the reward
* Allow the player to accept the quest

Once accepted:

* Display the active quest on the side of the screen
* Track enemy kills
* Update progress automatically
* Tell the player when the quest is complete
* Allow the player to return to the quest giver to claim the reward

After killing a Raider:

When complete:

# STARTING VILLAGE

The game begins inside a small village.

The village should contain:

* Village Chief
* Several houses
* Paths
* Trees
* Decorative objects
* A small shop with basic swords
* Player spawn
* Exit paths leading into the wilderness

The village should feel safe.

Enemies should not spawn inside the village.

# FIRST QUEST

At the beginning of the game, the player talks to the:

**Village Leader**

Dialogue should introduce the situation:

Raiders have been attacking the village and stealing supplies.

The Village Leader asks the player to defeat:

**5 Raiders**

Quest:

**Bandit Trouble**

Objective:
**Defeat 5 Raiders**

Reward:

* XP
* Money

The player starts this quest with only their fists.

# RAIDERS

Raiders are the first enemy type.

They should:

* Be in a circular formation (about 6 raiders at a time)
* Attack the player when nearby
* Have simple melee attacks
* Have a visible health bar
* Drop XP
* Drop money

Raiders should be weaker than the player once the player begins progressing.

Their level and health should scale appropriately with the player's progression.

# WOODEN SWORD CHEST

Somewhere in the early wilderness, place a discoverable chest.

The chest contains:

**Wooden Sword**

Rarity:
**Common**

The chest should only be obtainable once.

When opened:

* Play a chest-opening animation
* Display the item obtained
* Add the Wooden Sword to the player's inventory
* Allow the player to equip it

The Wooden Sword should be noticeably stronger than fists.

This introduces the player to the weapon progression system.

# WEAPON SYSTEM

Weapons are the main source of combat progression.

Weapons should have:

* Name
* Rarity
* Damage
* Attack speed
* Weapon type

For V1, keep weapon types simple.

Example:

Common
Low damage

**Wooden Sword**

Better damage

Weapons should visibly change the player's attack.

Do NOT create traditional RPG stats such as:

* Strength
* Dexterity
* Defense
* Sword Mastery
* Gun Mastery

The player's weapon determines their combat power.

Include a rarity system.

V1 rarities:

**Common**

* Basic weapons
* Easy to obtain

**Uncommon**

* Stronger weapons

**Rare**

* Strong weapons

Only use these three rarities in V1.

Give each rarity a visually distinct UI treatment.

# LEVEL 10 STORY PROGRESSION

Once the player reaches:

**Level 10**

They should be able to return to the Village Chief.

The Village Chief gives the player a new quest:

**Defeat Jerry**

Jerry is the leader of the Raiders.

Quest:

**The Raider Leader**

Objective:
**Defeat Jerry**

Jerry should be a stronger enemy/boss.

# JERRY BOSS

Jerry should have:

* A much larger health bar
* More health than normal Raiders
* Higher damage
* A few simple attacks
* A boss health bar at the top of the screen
* A unique appearance

Jerry should not be ridiculously difficult.

The fight should feel like the conclusion of the first area.

When Jerry is defeated:

* Give a large XP reward
* Give a large money reward
* Display a boss defeated message
* Complete the quest

Example:

**JERRY DEFEATED!**

# LEVEL 15 PROGRESSION

Once the player reaches:

**Level 15**

They have reached the current maximum level.

The Village Chief should tell the player that they are ready to leave the starting region.

Introduce a new quest giver somewhere beyond the village.

However, because this is V1, the next region does not need to be fully developed.

The new quest giver should simply indicate that the player's next adventure will be available in a future update.

Display:

**V1 COMPLETE**

**You've reached the current maximum level!**

Create one main playable region for V1.

The map should contain:

### Village

* Safe zone
* Village Chief
* Shop
* Houses
* Spawn

### Wilderness

* Trees
* Rocks
* Paths
* Open areas
* Raiders, Mercenaries and Jerry (make sure they aren't close to eachother)

Use environmental design to make the areas feel different without requiring huge amounts of content.

# SHOP

Add a basic weapon shop inside the village.

The shop should allow players to purchase weapons using money.

However, do not give the player extremely powerful weapons early.

The shop should primarily act as an introduction to weapon progression.

Weapons should become increasingly expensive and powerful.

Create a simple inventory system.

Make quests scale appropriately with progression.

Do not let a Level 1 player accidentally receive a Level 15 quest.

Quest requirements should automatically check the player's level.

* Huge amounts of weapons
* Hundreds of enemies
* Trading
* Clans
* Pets
* Mounts
* Advanced crafting

Those can be added in future versions.

The game should feel like the **beginning of a much larger RPG**.

Players should finish V1 thinking:

"I've just completed the first part. I want to see what comes next."

* Good exploration
* Weapon upgrades
* Level progression
* A polished UI
* A fun first boss fight

Make the game functional and playable rather than filling it with unnecessary features.
