Movie Collection & Show Distribution Simulator

Build a fully functional Movie Collection and Cinema Show Management Simulator with a clean, professional, simple dashboard. This is only a simulation app, not a real ticket-booking system.

1. Movie Management

Add, edit, and delete movies.

Enter movie name, release date, language, genre, and ticket price.

Support multiple movies releasing on the same date.

Track each movie's daily, weekly, and lifetime collection.

2. Cinema & Screen Management

Add cinemas and screens with configurable seating capacity.

Create multiple shows per screen per day.

Set showtimes, ticket prices, and assigned movies.

Prevent overlapping showtimes on the same screen.

Allow screens and showtimes to be managed independently.

3. Ownership of 600 Shows

I own a total of 600 available show slots to distribute among movies.

Display total owned shows, allocated shows, and remaining shows.

Allow me to allocate shows to any movie, including multiple new releases on the same day.

Example: Movie A = 250 shows, Movie B = 200 shows, Movie C = 150 shows. Total = 600 shows.

Allow me to increase, decrease, transfer, and reassign shows between movies.

Never allow the total allocated shows to exceed 600.

Show allocations can differ by movie, release date, and simulated day.

Treat 600 as my show-allocation limit, not 600 physical screens. Each show must be assigned to a valid screen and showtime.

Keep historical records accurate when future show allocations change.

4. Daily Occupancy Control

Display occupancy percentage, tickets sold, and collection for every show.

Allow me to manually increase or decrease occupancy for any show.

Support occupancy from 0% to 100%.

Automatically update ticket sales and collection whenever occupancy, capacity, or ticket price changes.

Allow different occupancy percentages for each movie, screen, showtime, and date.

5. Automatic Collection Formula

Use these formulas throughout the application:

Tickets Sold = Screen Capacity × Occupancy Percentage, rounded down to a whole ticket.

Show Collection = Tickets Sold × Ticket Price.

Daily Movie Collection = Sum of all show collections for that movie on that date.

Lifetime Collection = Sum of all daily collections since release.

Total Collection = Sum of collections from all movies.

Remaining Shows = 600 − Allocated Shows.

Recalculate all totals instantly whenever relevant information changes. Avoid duplicate counting when editing previous dates or transferring future shows.

6. Date Simulation

Add an official release date for every movie.

Include a simulated date selector with Previous Day and Next Day buttons.

Allow me to jump to any date and simulate movie collections day by day.

Save each day's occupancy, show allocation, tickets sold, and collection.

Allow manual occupancy adjustments for historical and future simulated dates.

Do not count collections before a movie's release date.

When moving to the next day, preserve previous records and create the next day's records without duplicating collections.

Allow the simulation to run independently of the actual current date.

7. Release Clash Manager

Detect multiple movies releasing on the same date.

Compare their release dates, allocated shows, occupancy, and daily collections.

Allow me to redistribute shows between competing movies.

Show how a new release affects the show allocation of existing movies.

Include a release calendar displaying upcoming, current, and past releases.

Support Nepali, Indian, and Hollywood movies.

8. Dashboard & Reports

Display summary cards for:

Total movies

Total shows owned: 600

Allocated and remaining shows

Total screens

Daily total collection

Lifetime collection

Total tickets sold

Average occupancy

Include:

Movie-wise collection rankings

Daily, weekly, and lifetime collection reports

Show-by-show occupancy tables

Movie release calendar

Collection graphs and comparisons

Search, filters, and sorting

Exportable reports in CSV format

9. Database & Interface

Save all movies, screens, shows, allocations, ticket prices, occupancy records, and simulated dates in a persistent database.

Use NPR (Nepalese Rupees) as the default currency.

Provide a modern, responsive dashboard with easy forms, tables, charts, and editing controls.

Validate all inputs and prevent negative values, duplicate records, invalid occupancy, and over-allocation.

Make all buttons, calculations, reports, and editing features functional.

Final Requirement

Build the complete working application, not just a visual prototype. Prioritize accurate collection calculations, flexible 600-show distribution, multiple simultaneous movie releases, and day-by-day simulation. Do not include online payments, real ticket booking, or external cinema integrations.
