Build a modern, mobile-first university social networking web app called UniCon (Uni Connect).

TAGLINE: “Connect. Discover. Belong.”

PURPOSE:
UniCon is a social platform designed for university students in Nigeria. It helps students connect with classmates, discover people in their departments, communicate privately, find accommodation and roommates, participate in campus communities, discover opportunities, and buy or sell products.

IMPORTANT BUILDING INSTRUCTIONS:

- Build a functional application, not just a landing page or visual mockup.
- Use the available free tools and integrations.
- Do not require paid APIs or paid services.
- Do not invent successful database operations if no database is connected.
- Make the application responsive and optimized for Android phones.
- Use reusable components and clean code.
- Keep the design simple, premium, youthful, and professional.
- Prioritize functionality over unnecessary animations.
- Do not remove features when implementing later improvements.

DESIGN:
Use a clean white background, deep navy blue as the primary color, and subtle purple accents. Use readable typography, rounded cards, consistent spacing, attractive icons, and a professional layout. Avoid a crowded interface and excessive gradients.

Create a distinctive UniCon wordmark and simple connection-inspired logo. Display the exact spelling “UniCon”.

MAIN NAVIGATION:
Create a mobile bottom navigation bar with:

1. Home
2. Communities
3. Accommodation
4. Marketplace
5. Profile

Include access to Search, Messages, Notifications, and Settings through appropriate icons or menus.

1. HOME FEED

- Display student posts containing text and optional images.
- Include like, comment, share, and save actions.
- Show the author's profile picture, name, university, and department.
- Include a clear Create Post button.
- Provide feed filters such as For You, Following, and My Campus.
- Add a post composer with validation and helpful feedback.

2. PERSONALIZED DISCOVERY
Design UniCon's recommendation system around the student's university, faculty, department, level, interests, followed accounts, and activity.

- Prioritize relevant campus content.
- Allow students to discover people from their departments and other departments.
- Include search and filtering.
- Do not claim to use AI recommendations unless an actual recommendation system is implemented.

3. STUDENT ACCOUNTS AND PROFILES
   Create registration and login screens.
   Registration should collect:

- Full name
- Email
- Password
- University
- Faculty
- Department
- Academic level
- Interests

Allow students to complete their profiles with a profile picture, biography, interests, and optional contact preferences.

Support multiple universities rather than hard-coding UniCon to one institution.

Provide Edit Profile, Settings, Notifications, Privacy & Security, and Forgot Password screens. Every visible button must have a meaningful action or clearly indicate that the feature is not yet available.

4. STUDENT SEARCH
Allow students to search for other registered students by name and filter results by university, faculty, department, and academic level.

Each student profile should provide appropriate actions such as Follow and Message.

5. PRIVATE MESSAGING
Create a messaging interface with an inbox, conversation list, search, timestamps, and message composer.
Users should be able to open a student's profile and select Message.
Provide a way to return to existing conversations.

Implement actual private messaging only when a suitable persistent backend is available. Do not expose private conversations publicly.

6. COMMUNITIES
Allow students to discover communities based on universities, faculties, departments, academic interests, hobbies, and campus activities.
Create community pages with descriptions, posts, and Join or Leave actions.

7. ACCOMMODATION
   Create accommodation listings with:

- Listing title and photos
- Location
- Price
- Accommodation type
- Facilities
- Description
- Contact method

Include search and filters. Allow students to create, view, edit, and remove their own listings when supported by the available backend.

8. ROOMMATE FINDER
Allow students to create roommate-seeking posts with their preferred location, budget, lifestyle preferences, and move-in period.
   Provide search and filtering.
Keep personal contact information private unless the student chooses to share it.

9. MARKETPLACE
Allow students to browse and create listings for books, electronics, clothing, food, services, and other permitted products.
Include images, prices, descriptions, seller profiles, categories, and search filters.
Provide a way to contact sellers without exposing private information publicly.

10. CAMPUS EVENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES
Include a section for campus events, scholarships, internships, competitions, and student opportunities.
Show event dates, descriptions, locations, and relevant links.

11. SAFETY AND PRIVACY
Provide report and block controls where applicable.
    Validate user input.
Restrict users from editing other people's profiles or deleting their posts.
Never expose passwords, authentication tokens, or private messages.
Do not use real student information in sample content.

12. SETTINGS AND DARK MODE
Create working settings screens for profile editing, notification preferences, privacy, and theme selection.
Provide light and dark modes with readable text and appropriate contrast.

13. BACKEND AND DATA
First inspect the capabilities of the current platform and identify which database, authentication, storage, and hosting features are available on the free plan.

Use the platform's supported free backend if available. Otherwise, build a clearly structured frontend with sample data and explain which features still require a backend.

Do not claim that registration, messaging, posts, or listings persist across sessions unless they actually do.

Use appropriate data structures for users, posts, comments, likes, follows, conversations, messages, communities, accommodation listings, roommate posts, marketplace listings, events, and notifications.

14. QUALITY CHECK
    Before finishing:

- Check that all navigation links work.
- Ensure forms validate input.
- Check that all screens are accessible from the navigation.
- Fix broken buttons and missing pages.
- Ensure the layout works on Android-sized screens.
- Check loading, empty, success, and error states.
- Remove unnecessary placeholder buttons.
- Explain any features that cannot work without additional backend configuration.

Start by creating the complete application structure and its main screens. Then implement as much real functionality as the available free platform supports.

The final result should be a polished, mobile-first UniCon student platform that can grow into a multi-university social network.
