AI App Builder for Agencies: How the GenMB Team Plan Works

A workspace per client, one shared credit pool, no per-seat fees, and a custom domain on every app you ship. Here is how a small agency actually runs on the GenMB Team plan, with the real limits.

The problem Team solves

An agency does not have one app. It has eleven: a microsite for a coffee brand, a booking page for a dentist, an internal dashboard for a client's ops lead, and eight more that are half-finished. Three people touch them. Two of those people should never see the other clients' work.

Most AI app builders price per seat and give you one flat list of projects. GenMB's Team plan at $49/month ($39/month billed yearly) is built the other way around: unlimited members, one shared pool of credits, and workspaces that separate client from client.

Here is what that looks like in practice, with the actual numbers from the product.

One workspace per client

A workspace is a named group of apps with its own membership list. Go to Workspaces, create one, and you are the owner. Every app you create inside it belongs to that workspace, and every member of that workspace can open every app in it.

The pattern that works for agencies is one workspace per client engagement. "Bloom Coffee" holds the microsite, the menu page, and the loyalty form. "Dr. Patel Dental" holds the booking app. A contractor you bring in for the coffee work gets added to Bloom Coffee and sees nothing else.

Three roles, and they do exactly what they say:

RoleCan do
OwnerEverything, including renaming and deleting the workspace
AdminInvite, remove, and re-role members
MemberCreate and edit apps inside the workspace

Two things worth knowing before you commit to the structure. Deleting a workspace deletes every app inside it, permanently. And you can transfer ownership of a workspace to any existing member, at which point you drop to admin and keep administrative access but lose the ability to delete it.

Full detail is in the collaboration docs.

Nobody counts as a seat

There is no per-seat fee on Team. The member cap in the code is effectively unlimited, so a five-person studio and a twenty-person one pay the same $49.

What makes this work is plan inheritance. When someone on a free account joins a workspace whose owner is on Team, their effective plan becomes Team for as long as they are a member. They get databases, Agent Mode, custom domains, and the rest of the paid feature set without a second subscription. Remove them and they drop back to free.

The cost is not seats. It is credits.

The shared 1,000-credit pool

Team includes 1,000 credits a month, and on Team (and Business) those credits debit a shared workspace pool, not per-person balances. Whoever is working, from whichever workspace, draws from the same 1,000.

That is the number you need to budget against, so here is what actions cost:

ActionCredits
Full-stack generation (backend + database)6
Multi-file generation4
Single-file generation2
Simple chat refinement1
Plan-mode / multi-file chat refinement3
Agent Mode build8
Deploy1

A typical client microsite is one full-stack generation, eight or ten refinements as the client sends notes, and a deploy. Call it 17 credits. A thousand a month covers roughly fifty of those, shared across everyone on the account. Pro gives you 300 for $19, so Team is about 3.3x the credits for 2.6x the price, and that is before the unlimited-members part.

Credit costs and the top-up packs are documented at /docs/credits.

Custom domains and dropping the badge

Every paid plan, Team included, gets two things an agency cannot ship without:

  • Your own custom domain on a deployed app, with SSL provisioned automatically. Add an A record, wait for DNS, done. You can attach up to 5 domains per account, managed at /domains.
  • No "Built with GenMB" badge. Paid apps ship without it.

That is the extent of the branding control. GenMB does not have a white-label mode where the editor itself carries your agency's name, and nothing in the product claims otherwise. What you get is a clean deployed app on the client's domain.

The DNS steps are at /docs/custom-domains.

Handing the finished app to a client

Three ways, depending on how clean a break you want.

Client reviews, you keep ownership. Add them as a per-app collaborator, up to 10 per app. They see that one app and nothing else in the workspace. This is the right default for a client who wants to click through a staging build and leave comments.

Client takes the workspace. Add them as a member, then transfer workspace ownership to them. You stay on as admin. Worth flagging: the workspace's credit pool and paid features then follow the new owner's plan, so the client needs their own paid plan for the apps to keep their databases and custom domains working.

Client takes the code. Export as ZIP, on every plan including free. The generated code is theirs to host anywhere.

Microsite Factory

If your agency work is mostly landing pages, the GenMB Agent has a pre-packaged playbook for exactly that. Microsite Factory takes a goal like this one:

"Build a microsite factory: 5 landing pages for a coffee brand - home, menu, our story, locations, and contact. Deploy each one live."

The crew card just prefills that text in the agent's goal box; it is not a separate gated product. The agent builds each page and deploys it. On the free plan you get the SEO audit crew only, so the microsite and sales crews are one of the concrete things a paid plan buys. Start one at /agent.

What Team adds over Pro

If you are already on Pro at $19, Team changes four things:

  1. Unlimited members with plan inheritance. Pro is a single-person plan.
  2. 1,000 shared credits instead of 300. Pro credits roll over up to 600; Team's pool is shared rather than banked per person.
  3. Database-backed apps go from 3 to 10. Each app with a real relational database costs money to run, so the cap is per owner: 3 on Pro, 10 on Team, 100 on Business.
  4. A shared invite path. Invite by email or a link, with a higher invite rate limit on pooled plans because onboarding a whole team is the normal case.

Everything else is identical. Both plans get databases, Agent Mode and GenMB Code, 80 plugins, up to 10 visual workflows, 3 scheduled agents, 3 chat agents live on Telegram, Slack and Email, 250GB of file storage per app, and 3 agent teams. (Agent teams are the multi-agent chat feature, not human seats. The naming collision is unfortunate and we know it.)

When Business is the right call

Business is $397/month and it is not "Team with more credits". It is a different buyer: a company rolling GenMB out internally, not an agency shipping client work.

The things only Business has are enterprise-shaped. Single sign-on. Role-based access control. An organization-wide team management layer with bulk CSV invites and an audit log of every membership change. Dedicated hosting infrastructure. Dedicated support with a response-time guarantee. On top of that: 5,000 shared credits, 5 scheduled agents, 5 chat agents, 10 agent teams, and 100 database-backed apps.

For a five-person agency, none of that is load-bearing. Move to Business when you need SSO or an audit trail, or when 1,000 credits a month genuinely runs out before the month does. Not before.

Create a workspace at /workspaces, invite your team, and point them at the same pool. The plan comparison, including everything free still covers, is at /pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the GenMB Team plan charge per seat?
No. Team is $49/month ($39/month billed yearly) for unlimited members. The member cap is effectively unlimited in the product, and members who join on a free account inherit the workspace owner's Team plan for as long as they are a member. What you budget is credits, not seats.
How do shared credits work across a team?
On Team and Business, credits debit a single shared workspace pool rather than per-person balances. Team includes 1,000 credits a month. A full-stack generation costs 6 credits, a multi-file generation 4, a simple chat refinement 1, and a deploy 1, so the pool covers roughly fifty small client builds a month across everyone on the account.
Can I separate one client's apps from another's?
Yes. Create one workspace per client. Each workspace has its own membership list, and members only see apps inside the workspaces they belong to. A contractor added to one client workspace sees nothing from the others. Deleting a workspace deletes every app inside it, so structure before you build.
Can I put a client app on their own domain and remove GenMB branding?
Yes on both, on any paid plan including Team. Add an A record and SSL provisions automatically; you can attach up to 5 custom domains per account. Paid apps also ship without the "Built with GenMB" badge. GenMB does not offer a white-label editor, so what you get is a clean app on the client's domain rather than a rebranded builder.
When should an agency move from Team to Business?
When you need single sign-on, role-based access control, or the organization-wide audit log, or when 1,000 credits a month genuinely runs out. Business at $397/month adds 5,000 shared credits, SSO, RBAC, a team activity log, dedicated hosting, and dedicated support. For a small studio shipping client sites, Team covers it.
