Asset Library

Personal cross-app collection of starred files: images, videos, PDFs, audio. Star once from any app and reuse from anywhere.

Starring an Asset

Open any of your apps, find the file in the file panel or the Files preview, and click the star icon. The reference is added to your Asset Library immediately.

Only assets in apps you own can be starred. Collaborator-only files cannot be added to your personal library.

Using a Star in a New App

Open the Asset Library from the editor sidebar or your profile. Drag any asset into the file panel of a different app and GenMB copies it to that app's file storage. The original star is untouched.

For brand assets you reuse constantly (logo, hero image, primary product photos), star them in a "brand kit" app you keep around just for that purpose.

Limits

  • Personal scope: visible only to you.
  • Stars are references, not copies. The source app must keep the file for the star to resolve.
  • Reusing a star in a new app copies the file into that app's storage and counts against its file storage quota (see Services & SDKs).

FAQs

What goes in the Asset Library?
Anything you have starred from one of your apps: images, videos, PDFs, audio. The library is a personal cross-app collection so you do not have to re-upload the same asset every time you start a new app.
Does starring copy the asset?
No. It records a reference (app id + filename). The asset lives in its original app's file storage. If the source app deletes the file, the star turns into a dead link.
Can I share the Asset Library with my team?
Not today. The library is per-user. Workspace-shared assets are tracked separately by membership rather than starring.
